Hi everyone, my name is Ryan Aszmus, and I am a first-year business student at the University of Pittsburgh looking to major in finance. I’m from Lancaster Pennsylvania about an hour west of Philadelphia. Throughout my life I have enjoyed playing all kinds of sports, especially football which I played all four years of high school. Some of my hobbies include watching sports, staying active and hanging out with my friends. At Pitt I enjoy playing intramural sports alongside all my friends. During my first semester I joined the Pitt Sports Business Association. I plan on working in the finance field once I finish college.
I chose the Plus 3 program because it offers a special opportunity to travel around the world while also being able to interact with the local businesses. Traveling has always been a great interest to me and a chance to visit an Asian country has always been a desire of mine. The ability to learn more about a different culture fascinates me. Previously I have traveled to a few other countries and those are some of the best experiences of my life. I look forward to Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City being unique once in a lifetime opportunity. I think this opportunity will give me a great perspective on how other countries operate and do business professionally. The chance to see how global corporations’ business do together will go a long way in my professional development. Overall, I look forward to the personal and professional development I will gain from the Plus 3 Vietnam trip!
