Introduction: Cami Samuel

My name is Cami Samuel. I am from Montgomery County, PA. I am a first-year business student and my major is undecided. Since coming to Pitt, I have joined American Marketing Association and Fashion Business Association. Outside of school, I like to bake and hang out with friends. I also love going to the beach and on hikes.

I chose Vietnam for my Plus3 location because I wanted to choose a location that I most likely would never get the chance to visit again. I also wanted to experience a new culture, and Vietnam’s culture is very different than every country I have visited so far. One of my goals is to experience as much of the culture as possible, so I want to try a lot of new food and learn some Vietnamese. Academically, my goal is to learn how Vietnam is becoming a more prevalent country in international business and global trade. Since taking microeconomics and macroeconomics this year, I have learned more about how domestic and foreign economies interact, and I would like to use what I have learned to better understand Vietnam’s growing economy. My last goal is to use this program to learn more about what I would like my career to look like. Because I have still not decided on a major yet, I would like to use the many site visits to learn what types of companies or industries I would like to work for in the future. I am very excited for this program, and I can’t wait to leave!
