Hello again. We have just finished up our first full day of exploring Dublin, and it’s time to reflect already! There are already so many exciting places I am looking forward to exploring further during my trip, and it seems like we don’t even have enough time to look at everything there is to offer! I have been surprised by the mix of modern and historical buildings. There’s so much history, combined with a new up-and-coming tech boom within this sprawling city. So far, we’ve become enriched with the history of Ireland and our surrounding city of Dublin, and have gained insight on some of the historical sites, as well as newer and growing areas in Dublin such as the rising tech business hubs that we will be looking further into throughout our trip.

I believe that the value of understanding a historical context as a business consultant is so that you can look at how the culture and the values of a country’s citizens has developed throughout over time. By gaining insight on the highs and lows of a city and its people, you are able to see what their values are and how they’ve grown and molded them into the citizens and business people we interact with today. You also get to learn how the businesses have come to grow and develop within Dublin, gaining insight on popular multinational companies on a more personal level. I believe that learning the historical context of Dublin and Ireland as a whole gives us a better understanding of the people we will be interacting and working with throughout our trip here in Dublin. I’m looking forward to continuing our journey and getting more immersed in the culture here.
