When choosing schools last year, one of the coolest things that stuck out to me about Pitt was the Plus 3 program. Here we are a year later, ready to go out of the country for the first time on the same program that attracted me to Pitt. I am so excited that it is here and that I get to go to Costa Rica!!

Costa Rica is considered one of the most environmentally sustainable countries in the world, which is an impressive and idealistic achievement. They could serve as a role model to other countries, given their success in key areas such as deforestation, electricity, and waste management. The country is 98% deforestation-free, generates 99% of its electricity from renewable sources, and recycles 60% of its waste.

I am extremely excited to visit Costa Rica for the first time to experience the beauty of the country, particularly its nature. Additionally, I think that the tours of the coffee and fruit plantations will be very cool. Another thing that I am excited to do is… Eat! I want to try out some fresh fruit so bad! I can’t wait to eat new foods and taste new flavors to get the full global experience.
