Hello!

My name is Kayla Pak and I’m a first year student at Pitt Business intending to major in Finance and Business Information Systems. I’m also looking to pursue a certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

I would consider myself pretty extroverted for the most part (I love meeting new people!), but I definitely am the type of person that needs some time alone to process and relax. I’m also a perfectionist that strives to be the best version of myself each day. I love taking on new challenges and learning new things, whether that be in an academic, professional or personal setting. I grew up exposed to a variety of cultures and am deeply tied to my own roots, so I really enjoy learning about other cultures. I’m also a huge foodie and love to travel, so I’m excited to get back into it through the Plus3 The Netherlands program!

Since I’m always looking to grow and develop myself, I thought a lot about what experiences will really challenge me while also helping me learn more about myself and the kind of personal brand I want to create and the idea of study abroad came to mind. I thought it would be an invaluable experience for me as a future business professional to experience the global aspect of business and begin to form a network. I chose Plus3 specifically because it’s a unique study abroad program that gives me a head start as a freshman to broaden my perspective, which will allow me to strive towards becoming the best version of myself both personally and professionally.

I hope to come out of my two weeks in The Netherlands Plus3 program with an expanded network of connections in the business world, an understanding of how to more efficiently work in teams, first hand experience of global business, having explored a new fraction of the world, and of course, having eaten some delicious new foods. Amsterdam, can’t wait to meet you soon!
