Prosím & Děkuji.

Following breakfast this morning, visited the Old Town Square and learned more about the history of the area surrounding the Jan Hus statue and the clock. Our walking tour concluded at a language building of the Charles University, where we discussed the development of the Czech language, learned some phrases, and talked about the effects political events had on engineering and different industries.

Universities in Prague are much more widespread than at home. The classrooms are much smaller, allowing for the lectures to be more interactive. I think it is interesting that there is a single examination for each class, and that there is no penalty for retaking exams as much as you would like. Definitely very different from the structure at Pitt.

Following our lectures, I went on a row boat with Becca and Brenda down the Charles River. It was so much fun and honestly kind of challenging paddling against the current. It ended up being quite a work out, so we got spaghetti and gelato afterwards. We past the Dancing House in our travels, which was a must-see on our list. All in all today was filled with many new experiences and learning opportunities.
