I am Daniel Cooper and I am the second of four children. I am a first year engineering student at the University of Pittsburgh. I intend to go into Chemical Engineering. I am from Terrace Park, Ohio, which is about four hours away, near Cincinnati. I have one dog and three cats and they are amazing. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my friends and going hiking. In the past, I have worked at Kings Island, an amusement park, and I worked the classic carnival game booths. I also worked at a local bakery. This summer I hope to work with the Boy Scouts at Northern Tier, guiding week long trips into the Boundary Waters.

I had Vietnam as my first choice of location. I want to explore the world and this was the location that allowed me to broaden my horizons the most. I have been lucky enough to go on a mission trip to Nicaragua and I have spent some time in Europe, so Asia was my next stop. I am looking forward to exploring the natural beauty of Vietnam, like the Mekong delta. I am also ready to learn more about how Vietnam is integrating itself into the global economy and going into clean energy. I am excited to have a global experience in a context related to my major, and seeing what companies look like in countries that are run differently than the USA.
