A day in London!

I love London!!! We started off the day with a delicious breakfast at the hotel. I got over easy eggs,  toast, mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach, overnight oats, and coffee. It was so amazing.

Then we began our day. We started off at the Florence Nightingale  museum. It was so interesting to learn all about her life. We saw many original items of hers including her wheelchair and much more. It wa so interesting to learn so many facts about her life. She is basically the mother of nursing, so without her I don’t know if I would be in this profession.

After the museum we began exploring London. We went to many new areas that were so fun to explore. Of course we had to stop at Big Ben where we took tons of photos and I was just in awe of how beautiful it was.

After seeing ben some of us went to So Ho, London which had many shops and stores that were quite pricy, but fun to window shop at. I was able to get some souvenirs for my family and friends, that they hopefully will enjoy, while also exploring the city. We went to many local thrift shops and stores and really got to absorb the city life of London. At one of the thrift store I actually found a Pittsburgh Steelers shirt, which was really funny.

We stopped at a local coffee spot that had delicious chocolate covered strawberries and cute coffee choices. They had a cute little latte with a heart on it, I have always wanted to have one of those. It was so cool to experience these delicious authentic London items.

Some of us then took the paddington tube to the London Bridge.  We actually got pretty good at the navigating the tube, felt like a local. London bridge was not what I expected, but was defineltly very cool to see. We took lots of photos and explored the area around the bridge, until it was time to head to dinner.

We all decided to meet at this delicious pizza place that was near the theatre. It so good. A few of us split a pizza with mushrooms, burata, mozzarella, and pesto. I loved it! After dinner it was time for the musical. Mamma Mia! It was amazing! I could not believe I was actually seeing the show in London. It has been one of my favorite movies since I was little, so seeing the show was such an amazing experience.

We ended the night taking the paddington back to the hotel. We stopped at a few more shops for some last minute shopping and some food. It was nice to spend the last night with everyone. We then headed back to the hotel to get some rest before the flight tomorrow.

In the morning the Pittsburgh flight group got to go see Buckingham palace. We watched the changing of the guards at the palace. It was so neat! I like to think that the King and the royal family were actually there when I was at the palace.

Unfortunately it was then time to head to the airport. It was so sad to leave. This was an amazing experience and I learned so much about nursing and healthcare. Also loved doing all the touristy things and we saw so much. I am so grateful I got to attend this trip and I definitely want to come back to England in the future!
