Early morning, chocolate croissant, and a latte, nothing new. On our 12th day in Germany we had a busy day planned ahead of us. We were having a traditional Bavarian breakfast at Baindlkirch. A short bus ride later and we got to our first destination to eat white sausages and pretzels. The pretzels were soft and warm and my favorite part of the breakfast.
After eating we headed to Wieskirche, or in English, the Pilgrimage Church of Wies. It was slightly cloudy but still the hills surrounding the church were beautiful. The church itself was amazing, and crazy to think that something so old and beautiful was not very far from town. The beautiful paintings and statues inside were breathtaking. There were trails surrounding the church that I wanted to explore more, sadly we did not have enough time. There were bikers and hikers on the trail and I really wanted to find out how far it went and where it ended. Next to the trails was a field of cows, and I learned that sometimes cows sleep on their side.

The next destination was the Neuschwanstein Castle. The roads leading up to the castle were winding, so I got slightly car sick, but it was fine once we got outside and walking around. We had about an hour in Füssen before it was time to go up to the castle. The small town before the castle had cute shops and cafes to see, but not much else.
We walked to the meeting spot and from there we walked up the hill to the castle. I was not expecting the hill to be so long, good workout, wish I had worn different shoes. Me and Ravi walked up the hill together and once we got to the top, it was time for pictures. By that time the clouds had cleared up and the city down below looked beautiful. Dr. Fieck had told us that the tour was very short, only 8 rooms. Even with this knowledge I still was slightly underwhelmed. Don’t get me wrong the rooms were beautiful and stunning, but once I had seen how large the castle was, there must have been more rooms that we are not shown.
After the castle we depart back to Augsburg. This was one of our longest day, coming home around 6’oclock. Tonight, was going to be busy however, because we had to plan out our day for Salzburg for the next day. We stayed up planning what train we were going to take and where we were going to go, and then it was time for bed.
