Day 13-Flight Home

My flight home was uneventful, I took one last final picture of the coach bus that was our home for the last two weeks in the sunrise, and got ready to leave. I had an amazing time on this trip, and will remember it forever. I really look forward to seeing everyone in the group…

Day 11-Presentations and Dinner at the Ratskellar

Once again, not a ton to report about this day. our group presentation went great and our one german group member who we didnt have contact with beforehand actually showed up and was super professional and helpful for the project. Her name is Alija and was actually really fun to work with. Our other member,…

Day 10-GROB

Today we visited Grob, and then worked on our projects. Not a ton to report, although the tour of Grob was fascinating. they specialize in extremely finely-tuned metal machining, and have a humongous facility in Mindelheim, Germany, where they build all kinds of industrial machines for other companies and precisely manufactured metal works of art….

Day 9-Hoerbiger + Oberammergau

Hoerbiger was our most boring factory tour/presentation day by a pretty wide margin. They make chips that provide precise timing and cogs for machine parts and cars. It was pretty uninteresting, and the lecture after was very long and spoke almost entirely about the technical side of things (manufacturing, automation, robotics) and the business side…

Day 8-Dachau

A Harrowing Glimpse into History: Visiting Dachau with Plus3 Germany 2025 As part of our University of Pittsburgh Plus3 Germany 2025 program, our group visited the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site—a somber but profoundly important experience that left an indelible mark on me. Walking through the camp grounds, it was almost surreal to stand in…

Day 6-castle Neuschwanstein

This was my favorite day of the trip by far. We got up VERY early, around 6 am, and headed out to Schlosserland, which Joni informed us means land of castles. Stepping out of the bus, the view was stunning, and I immediately started taking pictures. The area we pulled into was in front of…

Day 5- Audi

This day took us to the Audi factory and museum, which was absolutely one of the biggest highlights of the trip. We got up early and went on a long bus ride to Ingolstadt, where the audi factory and museum are. Conner and I were looking forward to this day for a while before we…

Day 4: Continental+Regensburg

Day 4 saw us traveling to Regensburg, which is home to a Continental Technologies, or Conti-Tech, plant. As is tradition, there was no photography permitted while on the tour, but i did snag some pictures of the outside and the sunglasses and gummies they gave us. the tour was cool but not terribly interesting. This…

Day 3: Nuremberg and MAN

I’m rewriting this after wordpress deleted everything i wrote. The day in nuremberg was awesome, lovesd the town square and the beautiful sculptures on top of the portals to enter the town hall, they were insanely cool and represent 4 great leaders, as well as the embodiments of justice and wisdom. this was albrecht durer,…

Day 2: Lecture+German Students Take Us Around Augsburg

Day 2 began with us attending a Lecture at the “Uni”, or University of Augsburg from a remote speaker on the auto industry in europe which was interesting, followed by working in our groups on a presentation for our assigned company. For my group, it was Continental. Working on the presentation was cool, and it…

Day 1-Long Flight Followed by Fun in the Sun

The morning of May 10th, I got up at 5:50 am to head out to Nordenberg. The sunrise was beautiful. Once I arrived, right at the 7:00 deadline, I was glad to have made the bus but was surprised to find that my roommate, Conner, was the lone person to not show up. We had…
