The morning of May 10th, I got up at 5:50 am to head out to Nordenberg. The sunrise was beautiful. Once I arrived, right at the 7:00 deadline, I was glad to have made the bus but was surprised to find that my roommate, Conner, was the lone person to not show up. We had to leave for the airport without him and just pray that he made it at the last minute, which he thankfully did. The flight to Charlotte was short, and in the Charlotte Airport, Conner let Izzie and I into the Mastercard Lounge which was incredibly nice. We spent some time there hanging out and playing Divekick on my laptop. Then came the flight to Germany which was long but mostly smooth. I spend the bulk of the flight watching 30 Rock and Curb Your Enthusiasm, and got a little sleep. When we arrived, it was 9 am in Munich.

We went straight from the airport to the Ibis Hotel to drop our stuff off, but despite our exhaustion, we had to wait until 3 pm to actually get in our rooms. exhausted, we immediately took a walking tour of augsburg, where I took a bunch of pictures on my nintendo 3DS:

The tour was cool, we got to see the Fuggerhausen, which is a low income housing project that’s existed for hundreds of years funded by the Fugger foundation. Fascinating stuff, and the many sculptures and fountains were cool to look at. Afterwards, we went to sonnendeeck, which is a rooftop bar where the floor is covered in sand and was super peaceful and nice. I took a quick nap there and we came back in the evening after dinner at a local german restaurant. I also met Joni, who is a super nice guy and a native of Augsburg. He’s been an amazing tour guide and friend for the whole trip,

Overall, day was solid and was a great introduction to Germany, and i was super grateful that Conner was able to make it. It was a great night for socializing and getting to know the rest of the group, and the tour of Augsburg was great, Although i didn’t love the dinner (Kasespaetzle), overall the day was fantastic.
