Hello! My name is Anna Kalea and I am currently a freshman at the University of Pittsburgh. I am majoring in Finance, as well as pursuing a double minor in Economics and Political Science. I am from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where I went to a small private high school called Bishop McDevitt. My family emigrated to the United States from Yugoslavia in 1998, so I grew up in a traditional Eastern European household speaking Serbo-Croatian.
I love to play tennis (absolutely love Novak Djokovic) and soccer (a die-hard Real Madrid, Chelsea FC, and Bayern Munich fan). I played the viola and oboe for 8 and 6 years, respectively. My dream is to attend law school and become a corporate lawyer, or run for Congress.
I am so excited to be a part of the Plus 3 Germany family! Since I was a child, it has been my dream to travel to Germany and experience the culture. Before deciding to attend business school, I was set on becoming an auto-mechanical engineer that worked for BMW in Munich (quite the turn from engineer to business!). My family is a German car family; my father only relies on German cars such as Audi and Volkswagen. He and I both have matching 2007 Jettas, except his is blue and manual, while mine is black and automatic. I hope to fully assimilate myself into German culture during my time there and learn more about the automobile industry!
