On My Way to Germany

Hi, my name is Arman Hoseyni and I am a freshman at the Swanson School of Engineering, University of Pittsburgh, where I am majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I chose mechanical engineering because I have always been interested in discovering how and why things work. I decide to attend Pitt because I loved the campus, people, and opportunities offered by the school. Outside of school, I enjoy listening to music, camping, hiking, sports, and spending time with friends. I played football and baseball, swam, and was on the robotics team in high school.

I chose to participate in the Plus 3 program and travel to Germany because of my interest in German culture and the automobile industry. I studied German throughout high school, and have always been interested in traveling to Germany. Automobiles are an essential part of modern society, so I am interested in learning more about how they work and how they are made. I hope the Plus 3 program will allow me to apply my previous knowledge of German culture and the automobile industry as well as enable me to expand my knowledge of those areas. I also hope that this program will give me a better idea of if I would enjoy spending an entire semester abroad later in college.
