Ticket to China: Adventure Awaits

Hi everyone! I am Rashel Bajaj, a (now!) sophomore at the College of Business Administration at the University of Pittsburgh, and I’m so excited to connect with you all here!! I am originally from Washington D.C., but my roots are from India. I travel back to India often to visit family and friends, but this is the first time I am going to China. I am currently pursuing a Finance and Supply Chain Management track with a minor in Economics and a certificate in Leadership and Ethics from the David Berg Center. I am also considering pursuing an International Business certificate, so I am excited to see how my Plus3 China experience goes and whether this is for me!

I cannot believe that the trip is finally beginning-I have been so excited for Plus3 China since I found out I can go. It has always been my dream to study abroad and truly immerse myself into a different culture and part of the world while integrating the experience with my studies and truly gaining clarity on how global development and international exposure can play into my career in the future. Plus3 China offers the opportunity to speak and hear from business executives in all areas of development, something which I believe is an incredibly unique learning opportunity and valuable advice that I will definitely apply in the future. With China being such a huge global consumer and producer market today, especially for smartphones, it will definitely be interesting to see it from a business and engineering perspective. In addition, I’m so excited to be able to visit the cultural sites-especially the Great Wall!

I think the most enjoyable experience I will have during this trip will be definitely forming friendships from students across all different majors and disciplines, along with the faculty and our fellow students in China! I am extremely excited to meet the various companies and to be able to see China’s smartphone industry from a different perspective, as well as form long lasting professional connections. I truly believe that the experiences from this trip will be life changing and memories that I will cherish forever, and I can’t wait to embark on the journey and share it with you.
