Day 3: Remembering the Googliness

Well today was long and I’m not sure if I can walk because my feet hurt so much but it was quite an exciting day. We started the day off bright and early only a few hours after I had just wasted my night watching the Penguins lose… (still not ready to talk about it). While tired and depressed, we made our way up to the Pearse Lyons Whiskey Distillery, where we learned a little about Irish history and a lot about whiskey. After the tour, we made our way up to the Docklands and met some interesting characters on the DART and grabbed some lunch before going on our tour through the Docklands. After the Docklands, we made our way to the Google headquarters.

The Google headquarters in Dublin are responsible for overseeing all parts of Google products in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. While learning more about Google was an interesting, the thing I will remember is being granted access to see the site. From the amazing view to the whole design of the building, the facility was amazing. I will remember the view from the top of their building as long as I can remember. It was my first chance to get a full view of Ireland and its countryside and I was unbelievably impressed.  Seeing the countryside and the coastline was beautiful and I will be sharing the experience forever. Inside the headquarters, the colors and design were different than any other workplace I have ever seen. I could see how the design and included amenities, such as massages, workout facilities, and free food, really motivate their workers to create a positive work environment.

All in all it was another great day in Dublin and I can’t wait for more to come!

P.S. I didn’t get a text to respond to but I’m having another great night and I’m hoping for some sweet dreams. Thanks Liz!
