Milan was very good to us today. We finally changed our negatives views of Milan by going to the heart of it all. The place where all of the real fashion is. We got a great guided tour through the center of all the shopping in Milan. We saw all of the creative window displays of high end brands like Gucci, Valentino and Dolce and Gabanna. It was all amazing. Then, our tour guide took us into the popular department store in Italy called Excelsior. This place was spectacular. They had a very unique layout by putting all types of products on a floor with no particular grouping or organization. More specifically, on the first floor there was jewelry, sunglasses, tech accessories, perfume and weird toys. We then went to the upper floors full of designer women and men’s fashion. Then came the shoes. Walls and walls of shoes, all Louboutins and Minolos. My jaw was dropped the whole time.

After this amazing store visit we went to a great lunch at a hotel. We filled our stomachs with amazing bread and risotto. We struggles to get up to leave since our stomachs were so full. After we left, a few of the kids and I went shopping. We went to Adidas and Urban Outfitters, got some gifts, then took the metro back to the hotel. Our day ended with a guest lector from a marketing director who works at Bottega Velasca. She was brilliant. She told us the goal of Velasca’s marketing team and how they approach their target market. In addition, she showed us some of their advertising videos and the inspiration behind them. It was really interesting to see how a new company is trying to gain customers and how they go about advertising to said customers. It was a great, interesting and very informative.
