The Last Hurrah

Today was our last day in Italy. The day began by visiting the Milan Fashion Library. It is a private library that hosts a collection of magazines, look books, books, newspapers, etc. I was intrigued by a book that had a title along the lines of Blood and Glitter. It mainly focused on David Bowie, Iggy Pop, and Lou Reed. It was super interesting. The book was laid out in pictures and quotes and gave insight on each of these people. It also had a section on Queen and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

All I will say about lunch is that none of us could figure out what the dessert was. It was some sort of pie, but the filing was indistinguishable. Even our guides had no idea what it was. After lunch, we went back to the hotel. Upon the conclusion of a short nap, three of us went to get gelato. I got coffee and tiramisu as always. This was the best gelato I’ve had, though. We did a bit of shopping before heading back to the hotel a second time where, you guessed it, I took another nap.

Only two of us went out for dinner. We found this place across the street from another restaurant we had previously been to. Both Kari and I ordered red wine, seared duck, and tiramisu. It was absolutely the best meal I’ve had while in Italy. Also, after big group meals, it was nice only being at dinner with one other person. Kari and I ended our day by doing face masks she had bought at an Italian make-up store. Overall, it was a fantastic last day.
