Reflection

I would like to thank the Thomas Angelo Honors Scholarship for providing me with the funds necessary to make this study abroad trip possible.  Without this assistance, it may not have been possible for me to take part in an amazing experience that I will cherish for the rest of my life.

During my time abroad, I was given the opportunity to stay in three different cities and visit two more.  Over the course of two weeks, I was completely immersed in Italian culture and constantly learned new and exciting things about supply chain management, fashion, and Italy.  In Milan, I was awestruck by one of the largest cathedrals in the world, learned crucial Italian language skills, and gained a unique perspective on fashion through site visits to places such as the Milan Fashion Library.  In Florence, I was able to admire countless works of art and architecture and learn more about fashion history through site visits to locations such as the Gucci Garden.  In Verona, I was able to see historic sites such as the coliseum, and learned plenty of information about supply chain management through a multitude of site visits.  On our two day trips to Como and Venice, I was able to completely immerse myself in Italian culture, learn about history, and enjoy the beautiful scenery.  Overall, this trip was unforgettable.

At the University of Pittsburgh, I plan on completing my course of study as an Accounting major in the accelerated accounting program with the Katz Graduate School of Business.  I am also considering earning a certificate in Business Analytics during this time.  This study abroad trip has opened my eyes to the countless benefits of studying abroad, and I am eager to take advantage of the other study abroad opportunities that Pitt has made available.  Hopefully, I will be able to study abroad again in the near future.

Once again, I would like to thank the Thomas Angelo Honors Scholarship for making this trip go from a possibility to a reality.  I am incredibly appreciative.
