Auf Wiedersehen Pittsburgh, Hallo Augsburg!

Hello, my name is Alexandra Miller! I am a freshman studying Marketing and Supply Chain in the College of Business Administration at the University of Pittsburgh. I am from Penn Valley, Pennsylvania, which is about 15 minutes from Philadelphia. I graduated from Harriton High School where I played tennis for four years and was captain my senior year. Some of my hobbies include listening to music, hanging out with my friends, traveling, and spending time with my family. I have a dog named Finn, he is a wheaten terrier and he is 6 years old. My family consists of me (the youngest), my sister Peyton, my mother Judi, and my dad Lance. Everyone in my family is excited for me to travel to Germany, but my father is by far the most excited. We have shared a love for cars since I was young. Since coming to the University of Pittsburgh I have been a part of Pitt Dance Marathon and the social sorority Delta Delta Delta.

Starting at the beginning of May I will be traveling to Augsburg, Germany to participate in the Plus3 Program. I have always had a love for the automobile industry and I knew that Germany is the perfect location for me to further my passion. Germany is home to many amazing automobile companies and to be able to have the opportunity to get a glimpse of that world will stay with me forever. I am excited to not only explore the industry I hope to be a part of in the future but also to explore the amazing country of Germany.

Through this program I would like to learn more about the field I hope to be in, learn more about Europe and the German culture, and push myself to experience new things. There are many pathways when working in the automotive industry and I hope this program shows me a little more insight into the specific path I would like to take. I hope to not only learn more about my major but the engineering aspect of automotive manufacturing as well. I hope to experience and learn as much as I can in these two weeks. I cannot wait for this amazing and once in a lifetime journey to begin!
