Hi everyone, I am Mike Neumayer. I am a rising sophomore in the College of Business Administration. I am currently undecided, but will likely double major in finance and something else. I am a brother of Alpha Kappa Psi, a professional business fraternity on campus. Hi everyone, my name is Mike Neumayer. I am from Hatboro, Pennsylvania which is actually “outside of Philly.” I like being across the state for a new experience, yet still close enough to go home. The only challenging thing is being surrounded by Steelers and Penguins fans since I am a huge Philly sports fan. Hatboro is a typical small town, so adjusting to city life wasn’t a challenge, but certainly different. After a year I can confidently say that city life is far better than the suburbs.
I am a rising sophomore in the College of Business Administration. I am currently undecided, but will likely double major in finance and something else. In my first semester, I joined Alpha Kappa Psi, a professional business fraternity on campus. One of the reasons I chose Pitt CBA was the study abroad opportunities, so I cannot wait to go to China. Also, Pitt CBA is a strong business program and the urban campus is what I was looking for. While I never had a true number one school, Pitt became it and I am happy about my decision.
In high school I was a part of student council and FBLA. I played soccer my whole life before coming to Pitt, so I now play intramural here. I also love to snowboard, even though I am not a big fan of the winter, especially Pittsburgh winters. I liked snow a lot more when school was cancelled and I didn’t have to walk in it. Besides sports, I really enjoy photography, especially when traveling. I have been out of the country twice. The first time was to Punta Cana for vacation. The second time, I went to Germany with my club soccer team and played other soccer teams from there. On both trips, I took way too many pictures. I plan to do the same in China. In Germany, I was able to hang out with the players after our games which was awesome; talking to kids from different countries really helps you understand the culture and how many things are different yet similar. I hope I am able to experience this again when I we meet students from local universities in China.
I chose Plus3 China because it is a unique opportunity. Learning about smartphones is relevant to pretty much everyone, since most people have smartphones. Along with the learning experience, I am very excited to experience Chinese culture. Seeing all of the sites is bound to be amazing, too. Now that finals are over, I can look forward to taking photos of the Great Wall, Terracotta Warriors, and all of the other amazing sites I will probably only get to see once in my life. I cannot wait to explore China and share the experience with twenty other people.
