Hello again! Day 3 has been incredible thus far. My day started off with an espresso and chocolate croissant from the hotel, which was stuffed with a homemade Nutella. I hope I can find something similar in the states!
Then, we traveled via metro to Catholic University of the Sacred Heart. I was surprised at how crowded the metro was, but it was surprisingly easy to navigate for not knowing any Italian. Then, we had a lecture and tour of the university. The lecture, given by Francesca Rinaldi, was very interesting for me, especially the section regarding sustainability in the environment and how it relates to the fashion industry. I could definitely see my career as an engineer dealing directly with sustainability issues in emerging technology, and I loved knowing how my career could possibly look in the future.
After the lecture, we toured the university with local students and got lunch in their dining hall (the food was far superior to Market Central). Next, we had a visit to the National Museum of Science and Technology. Honestly, this was my favorite part of the day. I really enjoyed the contrast from the business lecture as we explored science and engineering topics. We learned that modern plastic was developed in Milan! We also viewed a space themed floor, which held the only piece of the moon that Italy has on earth (pictured below).

After the museum, we visited an Italian grocery store and bought some snacks, then used the metro to get back to the hotel. Unfortunately, we lost our friend Nolan on the metro, but were soon reunited and back on our way home. Later, we headed to dinner and concluded our evening. Below is a window display from Porto Genova.

I am so excited to visit our first company and Lake Como domani.
