After a very busy and amazing first day in Seoul, we had a university visit with Hanyang University planned for Day 2. We woke up pretty early and went down to breakfast for some food before we got on the bus for about a 40-minute ride to the University. As we go to the University and meet our guide for the day, we were given an introduction on the university, its history, and other facts about the university. After the introduction, a professor gave a lecture on Korean Culture, History, and Society, which was very interesting and helped give us a brief understanding of more information in Korea. Then we went with some students on a tour of the campus, which is very beautiful however it is very hilly. We got to go into and see a few buildings including the library before we went to their cafeteria where we had our lunch for the day. After lunch we finished up with our tour of the campus and then went to see a museum that they have on campus that shows more about their history and some of their alumni. After the visit to the university we had free time during the rest of the day! Some of us decided to go to Gangnam, where we ended up going to COEX Mall, which is the largest underground mall in Asia. It has everything for clothing and apparel, including American brands like Nike, Under Armour, Adidas, and Levi’s, food options from many countries around the world, and so much more including a movie theater, indoor golfing range, and is connected to a casino. After we ate dinner at the mall we decided to go and see the Olympic Stadium in Seoul, which was very cool even though it was closed. As we were walking to the Olympic park area we saw the lights on at the baseball stadium so we decided to go and got tickets for under $8. The baseball game was an amazing experience because the games are so much more energetic as the batting team’s fans are standing and chanting cheers constantly. To make the game even better it ended in a walk-off giving the home team Bears a win. After the game we once again got to experience the subway as we took it back to the hotel. It was another great day with experiences I’ll never forget.
