A Day of Sleep

I woke up and my voice was almost completely gone. It was cutting in and out all the time, which was not good news because I had to do my final presentation today. My sore throat still remains along with my congestion, but at least I’m getting sick during the latter half of the trip rather than the first week. Today was an interesting day mainly because I slept in until 4:30 PM. I was extremely tired due to being sick. When I woke up at 4:30, I quickly took a shower and then met my group down in the lobby of the hotel and we went to dinner.

Before dinner, but at the restaurant, we all did our final presentations. My group had gone first, which was an interesting experience with no voice. Luckily I only had to do two slides and they were fairly short. The final presentations that we had to do were about creating a company that applies to either the U.S or South Korea. These were hypothetical companies of course. My groups company was called Halo and it was a translating computer application that is similar to Skype but it would give subtitled translations underneath the speaker along with provide a written transcript. We figured that such an application would be very favorable among businesses. The group that went next presented about a South Korean subway guide that was able to have many languages so that the many tourists of South Korea would be able to guide the subway systems. The group after that presented an application about being able to find free wifi around the cities in South Korea. And the last group that presented proposed an application that made it so that the user could find trash cans in South Korea. In South Korea, there are almost no public trash cans on the street. So that means that whenever you were walking around with a wrapper or any kind of trash, you needed to find a public bathroom and throw it out in there.

After the presentations, we then ate dinner which was like a buffet style dinner. It was very good and had many different foods from different cultures. We presented our instructors a cake for them being so excellent in guiding us through the city and just being there for us whenever we needed them.
