Today, we went off to Huawei．I did not know what to expect from our first company visit in China, but this completely surpassed what I thought I would experience. After we arrived, we entered the grand and elegant Huawei building. I first saw their stunning chandelier and their red-carpet stairs, which boasted their success. We quickly made our way to the guided tour of Huawei`s products and future plans. The first thing we saw was Huawei`s values and strategies as a business. They offer products and services from smart devices, such as smart phones or home devices, connectivity, such as wireless networks, and a cloud that can store and record data. This very technologically advanced company with their strong list of products allows them to have millions of loyal customers. Their sustained investments, strong values, and strategic work as a company allows them to continue to strengthen their company. It creates a great backbone that supports their continuous development. Their high reputation also continues to grow as they expand the number of products and services they produce.
The next product we saw was the development and plans for 5G. Huawei plans to be the first company to release and provide 5G network to their customers. 5G would be a huge step forward in technology around the world. Not only will 5G boost GDP growth globally, it will be able to support ten times the connections than before. It will be able to allow connections at 1.38 gigabytes per second. This has the ability to almost completely sync real time events, such as sports, with the users television and other smart devices. Huawei`s 5G has the biggest bandwidth and the highest output power. Despite this, it also has the smallest size, the lightest weight and the lowest power consumption. This is an amazing and sustainable product that will provide great connections to the customer.
Their other big focus is on AI, or artificial intelligence. Huawei`s strong research and determined development allows them to have a strong AI for any situation or product. AI will be able to improve other products on the market, such as cars. Using AI with automachines will allow for the best energy efficiency, strong performance, efficient operation and the best customer experience. It will also be able to continue to gather information for AI that can later be used for a better user experience.
My favorite product was the RuralStar and RuralStar Lite. They were created to “connect the unconnected.” These devices were made especially for rural areas and they are a less expensive alternative to other products. So far, it has already given connection services to Ghana, Thailand, Uganda, and Costa Rica. Instead of leaving these places in the dark and isolated from the rest of the world, Huawei provided this cheaper option so that these countries can have a reliable international connection. RuralStar and RuralStar Lite has already gained AfricanCom Awards, the Global Mobile Awards, and the Telecomlead awards. It is a great product for those who originally did not have any affordable options with connection services.
Overall, Huawei is a great a strong company that conducts strong research and develops stunning products for everyone across the world. I will never forget this stunning company visit in China.
The next company we visited was VIPKID. This company is committed to providing an English language education to people in China. Although it is a relatively new company, it has grown exponentially. With Chinese students being focused and busy with the competition in middle school and high school, VIPKID provides an at-home education by connecting the student with a real English teacher. They are able to have private and focused lessons that have proven to be effective. Children can begin learning early and continue learning for as long as they wish. This is a great product, because it connects the two most commonly used languages around the world. Through connecting people, I believe we will grow stronger together with more diverse ideas. Both of these company visits were great experiences that showed me more about business and future technology. I am extremely grateful to have experienced them both. _
