Hi! My name is Mae Plum and I am a current freshman enrolled in the University of Pittsburgh’s Swanson School of Engineering and have declared chemical engineering as my major. I have been looking forward to studying engineering for the past several years and am excited to conclude my freshman year at Pitt by studying abroad in Cyprus through Pitt’s Plus3 program. Aside from academics, I am from Hockessin, Delaware, and I currently serve as the vice president of the women’s club soccer team here at Pitt.

While I hope to start out my engineering career by working on teams to solve complex problems and accomplish difficult tasks, I hope to eventually move into project management within the engineering field. I believe the Cyprus Plus3 program’s focus on supply chains along with our partnership with business students gives important insight to the many moving parts of codependent industries. I hope to take this new teamwork approach and global experience and apply them to enhance my academic experiences during the remainder of my years here at Pitt.
