Hi, welcome to my blog! My name is Sophia Shoemaker and I am from Chadds Ford Pennsylvania. I am currently finishing my freshman year and recently declared my major as electrical engineering! Here at Pitt, I am a part of the Women’s Club Rugby team and the Aeronautics and Rocketry Club. I love space and rockets and hopefully one day you will see me working for NASA (or maybe on Mars…).
I chose Germany as my program because I want to learn from a new perspective in a country that is known for engineering, especially cars. I took German all throughout high school and almost got to go to Germany, but then covid started. I spent years studying the language and culture and I am super excited to finally experience it in Germany!
During the program, I hope to learn from a different perspective and build lifelong connections with the people I meet. I am also excited to tour leading technology and car companies. I want to learn about the engineering and business aspects of each company and use this knowledge when I return to America to become a better student!
