Hello, my name is Matthew Benik and I am from Chester Springs, Pennsylvania. I am a freshman engineer looking to pursue bioengineering. I am also thinking about pursuing a computer engineering minor and an Innovation, Product Design, and Entrepreneurship Certificate. I am extremely excited to gain skills in both engineering and business, as this combination is in-line with my academic and career goals.

Until traveling to England with my soccer team in 2019, I had never experienced anything but the United States. I was utterly fascinated to be in another country, even one that is arguably the closest culture-wise to the US. Since that moment, I have had a desire to explore further, which is why I am very excited to be going to Cyprus.

In Cyprus specifically, I am excited for the weather, good food, and the wide range of industries and supply chains we will be studying. I am particularly excited to learn more about the blockchain industry as Cyprus is a world leader in that sector. I dabble in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies so I’m banking on this industry being a success in the future.
