Costa Rica is a lot like I expected it to be. When we first arrived, I was actually surprised at how populated it is and to see a lot of American chains. I thought it would be more rural and not so built up. Many people seemed more surprised to see us then we were to see them.
I thought that service here is very different than the U.S. They’re more formal in the sense that we were served breakfast at our hotel, I was not expecting that. Going out to eat seems like a whole experience vs just a quick stop. There are many food choices everywhere and vendors.
People in Costa Rica are more relaxed and less focused on rushing somewhere or their next move. I noticed a lot of people in the park just enjoying each others time. There wasn’t a sense of rush like the U.S. I’m excited to experience the rest of Costa Rica and really looking forward to learning about their sustainability.
