Eat Walk Eat Walk!🙈

Today was our first full day in Cyprus and it was go, go, go! I loved learning about the culture here and walking around both the Old and New City. It was really interesting seeing the contrast between the two, especially with the architecture I felt like it was a perfect way to start off our trip by getting us acclimated to the area around us. I have so many places I want to explore now!

The university of Nicosia was even more amazing than I could have ever imagined. The buildings were so beautiful and I can’t wait to spend more time there. I also really love how everything is tied in with the outdoors. Most of the restaurants and shops are partially outside, which makes it so pleasant to sit outside and talk with friends.

Cyprus also has the two things I love the most: coffee and plants! I thought it was really cool how a lot of the buildings incorporated plants into their design. I felt like in the new city these plants helped break up the harsh architecture of the tall city buildings. I also will be trying as many coffee shops as possible!

Finally, we finished out the day with a meal at a traditional meze tavern. Even though I’m normally a picky eater, I tried everything they gave us and it was all delicious! I really liked how they brought out small plants of multiple different dishes. This really helped me branch out and try new foods. If it weren’t for this meal, there would probably be many foods I would be too afraid to try.
