Scavenger Hunt! (May 9)

What’s even better than day 1? Day 2! The second day in Augsburg was incredible. We began by touring the University of Augsburg, where we worked closely with the German students to create an introductory presentation for the German firms we are touring. The language barrier proved challenging at some points, but it was very rewarding once we were able to work through the challenge and communicate clearly! We then were treated to lunch at the University of Augsburg’s dining hall (sorry Pitt, Augsburg dining has you beat!)

Later in the day, we were lead on a scavenger hunt by the students from the University of Augsburg. They were very knowledgeable about the city, and were excellent guides. They brought a lot of positive energy to the table, which I really appreciated. The scavenger hunt led us through some of the most beautiful places in Augsburg, including numerous water fountains, parkways, and churches! As I stated in my previous post, the architecture here is really quite breathtaking. Pictures are helpful, but seeing this city in person is really an incredible experience.

Inside one of the churches we toured!

Following the tour, we had dinner at Pizzeria Dragone, an Italian/German Restaurant! However, the entire menu was in German! (Besides “spaghetti,” I don’t know many German/Italian words). Luckily for me, the University of Augsburg students were willing to help us translate the menu. With some help, I ordered tortellini with ham and cream sauce, and it was delightful.

Another day, another awesome experience in Germany! Tomorrow we begin touring the German companies! Come back tomorrow to hear how it goes!
