Brewin’ at Britt

At our visit to Café Britt today, we learned about their marketing techniques and manufacturing process. In contrast to Doka, they’re more focused on the consumer experience and roasting process.

Because there product is high quality and consumer experience based, many of their customers are tourists. Their bags of coffee grounds even have pictures of Central American destinations so it can act as a souvenir for buyers. Tourists are also more likely to go through their tutorials and tasting tours to get the whole experience. To the locals, it may not be such a big deal.

They’re the roasters and more so sellers within the supply chain. Like stated previously, their top marketing angle is teaching customers to be their own baristas. They want the product to be more of a lifestyle and habit than just a drink. This way, it keeps consumers coming back for more and following their line of products. They plan and map out the whole thought process of the consumer, making sure they can provide products for every step of their coffee (and chocolate) needs. I think their approach is affective and helpful, it doesn’t leave consumers hanging or confused about brewing their own coffee.
