day 2

The second day at Cyprus was pretty information-packed. The day started at 7:00 am. I scrambled out of bed and went down to get some breakfast at the hotel restaurant, similar to yesterday. The group then got on a bus at 8:00 am to tour Medochemie. The tour started with a presentation about what the company focuses on. Then, the quality assurance manager talked briefly about how their quality assurance works to allow for the products to be up to standard with the GMP. We then talked about the actual supply chain of the company. Next, there was a discussion for any questions we had. Lastly, we toured one of their warehouses where one of the doors kept closing and I thought it would close on someone and crush them. The tour taught me a lot about the supply chain of specifically the pharmaceutical industry. It was most interesting to hear about how COVID-19 affected the company in both positive and negative ways. Companies either grew a lot or failed during COVID-19, so it was interesting to hear about how this company in particular grew and expanded during the pandemic.

Next, after a brief lunch at the University of Nicosia, we had a presentation from Wargaming.net. This presentation was much more intriguing to me as I know more about the concepts they were talking about; however, the room they did the presentation in was so absurdly hot and uncomfy that it made it so hard to concentrate. Nonetheless, I learned a lot about the gaming industry and how games are made. It was also interesting to hear about the how the company makes strategic decisions when it comes to marketing in different countries. I also really liked their game design expert Slava Liushia. He was super funny but also gave a lot of insight onto how the games are developed and the roadblocks that arise during game development.

After writing this, I am going to eat and then hopefully explore the city a little further! cya
