Today started off spectacularly, as it was our latest departure of the trip so far: 11 AM. Our first stop was PwC, a consulting firm that is a leader in design thinking and innovation. As we ascended their elevators once we arrived, i could immediately tell this visit was going to be different than all the other company visits I had attended so far. This was because the elevators had glass doors, so people could see us rising as they waiting for their own trip. When the doors opened, our eyes were greeted with a penthouse-like suite, filled with futuristic furniture and fully glass windows that allowed us to see the entire city of Nicosia. We were then greeted and given the option of grabbing a coffee at the coffee bar. I got an Iced cappuccino, which had a presentation equally as good as its taste. As we sat down, we watched as the company logo floated on thin air. We quickly realized it was a hologram, and watched in awe as the holographic features were used during the introductory presentations. After some lectures on business and supply chain, we then were served lunch and got to walk around to different stations in a networking style event. They had a table presenting about blockchain, so I soaked up information from that station for the rest of the visit.
We arrived back to Nicosia early compared to most of the other days, so me and my friends decided to try out some museums, eat halloumi cheese pies, and explore the old city. We eventually decided to cross the border in Nicosia to the Turkish side, as we had not done so thus-far. The Turkish side of Nicosia had a distinct character, consisting of many more pop up stands and shops in general than the side we were accustomed to. We also got to see the biggest mosque in Nicosia, which was very interesting.
After we returned back to hotel, we met up with the rest of the group to attend our farewell dinner. We were served meze once again, and i had a great time having one last long dinner with the entire group. Even though we still have one more day, it was bittersweet knowing this would be the last time the whole group was together.
