Hello Blog! My name is Brenda Rea and I am a sophomore chemical engineering student here at Pitt. I am originally from Pittsburgh, so naturally Pitt was the right choice for me. As much as I love Pittsburgh, I am eager to go abroad and experience a new culture. I chose Plus3 Transfer Plus (Prague) because it will provide me with the opportunity to network with engineering professionals abroad in a city surrounded with rich cultural history. I believe that networking is a fundamental aspect in any career that requires both professional and personal skills. I hope to network with chemical engineers in Prague to learn about what obstacles they face when bringing products to market. It is my dream to work for a consumer products company to develop products that change the way that customers interact with the world around them. I believe that this program will uniquely give me the opportunity to gain knowledge that will propel me into my career.

Moreover, Prague is a beautiful city that is blanketed with intricate architecture. I am eager to immerse myself into the cultures of the Czech Republic by learning the Czech language. Academically, we will be taking a language course at Charles University that will allow us to better connect with locals. I am confident that this program will allow me to grow personally, academically, and professionally. 

Outside of traveling, I love exploring the outdoors in my free time. Specifically, I like exploring new trails on a scenic hike or soaking in the sunshine while kayaking. I am also a big foodie. I love trying new foods, baking elaborate desserts, and watching the Great British Baking show. Overall, I find joy in trying new things and spending quality time with friends and family.
