Me!

Hi! I’m Evan Tipton! I grew up in Akron, Ohio. I went to high school at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School (the same one LeBron went to)! I am a senior industrial engineering student here at Pitt, and I’m extremely excited that through Swanson, I’m able to have the opportunity to participate in amazing experiences like traveling to Prague. I’ve never been to this part of Europe, and I’m looking forward to experiencing a brand-new culture.

When I’m not in the classroom or going on global experiences, I like to spend my time with friends and developing myself. One way I have been developing over the past year has been through my internship in project management at a big law firm. This experience has guided my decisions, and I look forward to a career in PM. I am also a member of the professional engineering fraternity, Theta Tau.

Prague!!

This May, I will be traveling to the Czech Republic, more specifically to Prague. This trip will be a research-focused study-abroad adventure. On this trip, I hope to expand my understanding of engineering and business through exposure to international methods and attitudes about the topics I’ve been studying for years.

More personally, I’m very excited to be able to travel to a new place with (almost) all new people. Also, since Covid, I have done a very little traveling, and this experience allows me to satisfy that want and to do it with my peers.
