My name is Michael Gregory and I am a junior marketing major from Farmington, Connecticut. I have family ties to the city of Pittsburgh, so naturally Pitt was always at the top of my college list, but when I realized how much the school had to offer, it became a no brainer when it came time to make a decision on which college I would attend. In addition to my major of marketing, I am also pursuing certificates in sports management and digital media. My desired career path is to work somewhere in the sports industry. I am currently interning with the Pitt football team as a recruiting assistant, and plan on working for the Premier Lacrosse League this summer as a marketing intern. Aside from work and academics, my interests are very diverse. I enjoy fly fishing, playing guitar, watching sports, and hanging out with my friends. I have been a member of various student organizations at Pitt, including the club football team, sports business association, fly fishing club, and Pi Kappa Phi fraternity.
I chose to pursue the Plus3 Ireland program because it had all I was looking for in a study abroad experience. I was not interested in the commitment of a full semester abroad, so a plus3 made sense for me. After looking through all the options, I decided that Dublin was the best option for me. Being in a city with lots of companies, combined with various excursions to other regions of Ireland was very appealing to me, and I felt like it had the most to offer for what I was looking for. Additionally, I had the chance to visit Ireland with my grandfather when I was young, and ever since then I have wanted to return. It was a very special trip, and I am looking forward to returning to the country!
