Hi everyone! My name is Bailey Kush, and I can’t wait to start this journey!
I am from New Kensington, PA, which is about forty minutes from Pitt. I am a senior at the University of Pittsburgh, and I will be graduating in August after the completion of Plus3. I am majoring in Human Resources Management and minoring in Italian. At Pitt, I have been involved in Phi Beta Lambda, a professional business organization, since the spring of my sophomore year. This past summer, I was a corporate HR intern at Howmet Aerospace on the North Shore.
I will be participating in Plus3 Ireland, and this program stuck out to me due to COVID’s impact on my time in college. I had chosen to attend Pitt because of the variety of study abroad programs, and I had actually intended on applying for Plus3 Ireland my first year after I transferred into the business school. Unfortunately, like most Pitt students, I was sent home during the spring semester of my first year and all plans I had to study abroad seemed impossible. Once I found out I qualified for Plus3 three years after I had intended to apply, I was elated! I have wanted to travel to Ireland for several years now, mainly for the breathtaking sights and to get a better idea of the rapid growth of business, primarily in Dublin. While in Ireland, I want to expand my knowledge about international business. After researching the Guiness Enterprise Centre with my group, I am excited to visit and learn more about the strong government support the company receives and details about the wide array of programs they offer. I took International OB, and I look forward to seeing which concepts I learned will intercept with what we learn during our company tours. This will be my first time abroad, and I am excited to be given the opportunity to explore, get out of my comfort zone, and try new things.
I cannot wait to see what is to come these next two weeks!
