Nächster Halt: Deutschland!

Wow! Time has flown, and departure for Plus3 Germany is right around the corner.

My name is Juliana Alvelo-Davies (or Jules), and I am a bioengineering student at Pitt’s Swanson School of Engineering. I chose bioengineering so that I can eventually design medical devices, such as implants and prosthetics, and because I have always been fascinated by STEM.

I am from Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, and attended Cedar Cliff High School. I have only travelled internationally once before, visiting England and France. I am greatly interested in the history of World War II so, while visiting England and France, I went to many important WWII historical sites (such as Winston Churchill’s War Rooms and the beaches of Normandy). As a result, I anticipate that a largely important and impactful part of this trip for me will be visiting the Dachau concentration camp.

I chose Plus3 Germany not only because of this experience, but also because I have an interest in luxury cars and engineering as a whole. So, although the car industry is somewhat distant from bioengineering, the Plus3 Germany trip will allow me to further explore another interest of mine while getting more versed in the business world as well. I can’t wait to experience the culture of Germany and to learn more about the automotive industry!

Bis später,

– Juliana (Jules) Alvelo-Davies
