Hi, my name is Lucas Garofoli, and I am currently a junior double majoring in accounting and finance here at Pitt. I enjoy problem solving and am very detail-oriented which is a big reason why I got into this field. originally from Mount Lebanon, PA, which is about 25 minutes away. In my free time, I like to spend a lot of it around sports. Most days I play pickleball, golf, and basketball, and I love to watch whatever is on. My favorite teams are the Steelers, Pirates, and Lakers. I am a Lakers fan because I am a die-hard LeBron fan. If you are wondering, that is my goat over MJ. I also enjoy hanging out with my friends, working out, and reading. I am also very close with my older brother, Antonio, and older sister, Talia. Additionally, I am gearing up to start my dream internship this summer at Grant Thornton, where I will be an audit intern. I am very excited about this opportunity and am very happy to be spending the summer here in Pittsburgh.

Before my internship, though, I will be participating in the Pitt Plus 3 programs in Augsburg, Germany. I have always wanted to study abroad, but I didn’t really think a semester-long program was for me. I also knew I wanted to go to Europe but never had the opportunity previously. My advisor recommended this program, and I am very happy that she did, because I think it will be a great opportunity for me. Because of these factors, when I saw the Germany Plus 3 programs, I felt like it was the perfect fit for me. I can’t wait to visit the different company site and believe it will be a great opportunity to learn more about how large businesses like this are run. I couldn’t be more excited for what is to come!
