My name is Sam Goddard. I graduated from high school in Newtown, PA, but I moved all over the place during my childhood, in places like Princeton, Rumson, and Freehold, NJ, as well as Boca Raton, Florida. Now I am a junior here at Pitt, dual majoring in Finance and Accounting with a minor in economics. Last spring, I studied abroad in London, where I completed an internship at a pharmaceutical consulting firm. The summer afterwards, I worked at an investment bank in Manhattan. This summer, after this Plus 3 program, I plan on interning again in IB in Manhattan. During my free time, I like to hang out with friends and family. I am also a sports fanatic, especially following the Giants, Heat, Rangers, Yankees, and Arsenal.
Studying abroad in London was one of the best experiences of my entire life. It gave me professional direction, a huge increase in my cultural intelligence, a boatload of new friends, the experience of visiting 11 new countries, countless memories, and an overall experience that I now look back on as the greatest 4 months of my life. Because of this, I knew I wanted to go abroad again if I could, and the Plus 3 Germany program fit perfectly. Additionally, my family is originally from just outside Munich, and it has been a lifelong dream to go back and see where my ancestors are from. That, combined with the fascinating curriculum of a case study collaborating with real German students, automobile manufacturing tours, and incredible once-in-a-lifetime sightseeing opportunities, made this program a must for me.
