After sleeping a majority of our 8 hour plane ride to Germany, we had finally arrived. We walked outside off the plane using a ramp and onto the tarmac. Not only did we have a layover in Germany but we actually walked outside and breathed in the fresh German air so I was excited to have walked outside so I feel as though I can count my Germany visit. I had the opportunity to try some German food at the airport. I got schnitzelbrotchen which was just a chicken sandwich, but it held me over until our delicious dinner in Limassol.
We landed in Limassol and I finally felt as though our long travel could be over and done with. We were greeted by our lovely tour guide for the first couple days, Christina, who will help us tour and acclimate to Limassol. We all loaded onto our bus that would take us to our hotel, driving on the left side of the road of course. I couldn’t stop looking outside the window and admiring the beautiful landscape of Cyprus. A lot of the houses were a modern shape, with white stucco with red terra cotta roofs. Never have I seen so many Cypress trees. We reached Limassol and got off the bus in the middle of the street, blocking about 30 cars behind us.
Our hotel is so fancy I feel so spoiled to be staying here. The technological advances of the hotel are so nice. Our room number is even automated. Everything is very modern and simplistic, I love it. We have a balcony that I plan on drinking our complementary espresso. After we all freshened up we ventured out into Limassol. We walked around as a group and then eventually split off and found a restaurant to eat our first meal in Cyprus. We ate at il Castello and had a lovely eating in the courtyard where kids were running around and numerous cats visited our table. It was a lovely meal with the group and was so relaxing to eat with peers. I am so excited for this trip!
