After an incredibly long day of travel, we finally arrived in Munich at 7am Munich time. We made it through customs quickly and began our journey to Augsburg, but soon the jetlag started to kick in. The bus ride was full of new experiences as we saw many new things to me like beautiful canola oil fields and many types of cars I’ve never even heard of! I got to take my first trip on the autobahn and see people speed by us with no speed limit.
We shortly arrived in Augsburg and soon our city tour began. The city was not what I expected at all, giving me an old but homey city feel, and I liked it a lot. We saw many incredible things throughout our time walking around the city and learned more about Augsburg’s history. My favorite part was seeing the gold room atop the town hall. That’s the picture I decided to use for my blog today as it stood out to me the most and was unlike anything I have ever seen before. Finally, we wrapped up our day with a wonderful tour of the Fuggerei and had a dinner with the German students. Interacting with the German students and learning more about school and just life in general here was also quite a unique and rewarding experience. Overall, I experienced a lot of new things in a such a short time in Germany and I can’t wait to experience more!
