Today was a day of firsts. First time outside of the United States, first time in Europe, and my first day in Prague. To say that I was struck by the beauty of this city would be an understatement. There is so much character, history, and culture to be uncovered. I am surprised by how comfortable this new environment is to me. Prague is truly an inviting city.
I am looking forward to further exploring Old Town as in just a short few hours I learned that every street of this city has a unique personality to be desired. I want to learn more about the different buildings, visit many museums, and indulge in all types of Czech cuisine. The list of things I am looking forward to goes on and on.
Just today we began to explore Old Town by visiting the Charles Bridge Museum and getting dinner at Kolkovna, where I tried wild bore leg. It was so heavy and filling, which was much needed after so much travel. The city is so walkable, with few cars on the many cobblestone streets. Trams, and many other forms of public transit seem accessible everywhere. I am looking forward to better learning how to navigate them to see farther away parts of the city.
