After finally arriving after many many hours of travel, we finally made it to Larnaca. Getting past the obvious excitement, my first impression of Cyprus was that it was immensely beautiful and unlike anything I’d ever seen before. From the mountainous terrain to the crazy houses to the huge ships visible right off the coast, I am thoroughly impressed with almost every aspect of this country that I’ve been able to witness so far.
After finally getting to the hotel in Limassol and settling in, the group got ready to go to the Limassol Marina to explore a little bit and get some dinner. During this exploration, we were able to see many of the luxury yachts that one day I hope to own. Eventually, I along with other group members ended up choosing Castello’s, a nice restaurant by the coastline. I decided to order a plate of calamari which came with tzatziki sauce, fries, and salad. After eating this meal, I wouldn’t have wanted to start the trip any other way. I have never had such good food for such a relatively cheap amount. During the dinner, we were actually greeted by many of the cats that Cyprus has to offer. They were very friendly and came up to us with no hesitation.
We are all looking forward to the many memories that will be made and are thrilled to get this trip underway. Soon enough we will be meeting UNic students along with business executives who will give all of us an insight into topics that we wish to learn more about. I can’t wait to have more time to explore and see what Cyprus has to offer!
