We started the day off at the university. We took the tram there, and it was very nice compared to US subways and buses. When you get to the university the first thing, I noticed was the landscaping. Everywhere you looked everything was overgrown which never happens at Pitt. It was really cool to see all the plants and ivy everywhere. It made the university feel like a park instead of a school. We got lunch at the university in there dining hall that very different compared to the eatery. It wasn’t all you can eat style and you can’t sit down and then get more without paying again, but the food was definitely better than the eatery.

Meeting the German students was cool especially the ones coming to Pitt next fall. They gave us a scavenger hunt around the city which was really fun. We started at the church on the west side of Augsburg. It was so big that we ended up walking into the small church attached to it on accident. We went down to the crypt there which is something I’ve never done in a church so that was really cool.

After that we went back to the main square, and up to the dome(cathedral). The cathedral was huge and beautiful. There were gorgeous stain glass windows. It has the oldest stained-glass windows in Germany. We also went to the crypt in this church, but it wasn’t as far doesn’t into the ground as the other crypt.

After that we got to know the German students better (the ones coming to Pitt). It was fun talking to them about what they were most excited about to see/do in the states. They were very excited to try a lot of candies that are banned here. After that they gave us some gift bags with German sweets in them, and then we got pizza. It was a great day in Augsburg that I was more awake for. Tomorrow, we go to the Alps which is very exciting.
