Parts of day two in Augsburg were unexpected, but delightful.
After only sleeping for about three hours, I awoke at 7:30, rushing downstairs to catch breakfast before 8:05. Shortly thereafter, we walked to Königsplatz, the main tram station, and took a tram to Universität Augsburg (the University of Augsburg).
Upon our arrival to the University, we worked alongside other undergraduate students to make a presentation about the company which we will be further investigating throughout the trip, providing our classmates with any important preview information about our company.
After completing our presentation at the University, we went on a scavenger hunt around the city with two graduate students who are set to study at Pitt during the upcoming fall semester. I found it very interesting to explain the similarities and differences between Augsburg and Pittsburgh to them, and to see how excited they are to study at Pitt. During the hunt, we visited some gorgeous historical buildings, such as the St. Ulrich church. This allowed me to dive deep into my love of architecture and artistry in building design, and I reflected a lot about how different the St. Ulrich church is from most churches in America.

After the scavenger hunt, we visited a local brewery and taste-tested some authentic German beer, and then headed to an Italian restaurant to eat some pizza.
I can’t wait for the rest of the unique experiences we will have on this trip!
