Let’s Get Personal

Hi guys! Today is day 3 and today was my favorite day of the trip so far. This morning we went back to Griffith College for a lecture by the founder of TalentHub, her name was Ellie Doyle. I really enjoyed her lecture about what she does for a living. Essentiality she is a “matchmaker” for employees and employers she matches students and people looking for a job with corporations who are looking to hire. During her lecture she gave us some tips and some ways to help us when we do start looking for jobs and internships after we graduate. I really enjoyed her talking about the importance of “soft skills” and the advice that was given was very helpful and I feel like I will be using them in the near future. Some of my strongest competencies would be how well I manage my time I would say that I am good with my time management skills and getting everything I need done in a timely manner without stressing myself out too much. I think this skill will help me in my job performance because if I was given more than one task I feel I can efficiently manage my time to get all the assignments and tasks done before they are due.

During the lecture Ellie also talked about the importance of your personal brand and how to be careful what you share on the internet because once it is on the web it will stay there forever. I think my personal brand would be things I gravitate towards and repost online. I repost a lot of Jeeps and aesthetic pictures with my friends and family and what I have been up to. I think my brand is loving my friends and family and wanting to show them off by posting to social media. I also think my brand has a lot to due with casino and dealing as that is like my second interest outside of school. I really like counting and numbers and working with people.

Our second adventure today. After the lecture we went to Croke Park and we got a personal tour of the entire stadium. I really enjoyed our tour of the stadium and seeing where the teams get ready for matches and where the fans sit and a little history of the stadium and how it came to be. I really enjoyed how the one side of the stadium is standing only and the top is lower then the rest of the stadium because it is near a residential area and if they made it all the same height it would block their natural light. I like how the owners and workers of the stadium take that into consideration and work with the owners of the residential area to create a layout of the stadium so everyone wins. Overall today was a really good day! Stay tuned for tomorrow!!
