Hello again!!
Today was a very chill day, but it was a fun one (despite the cold and rainy weather). When we were getting on the tram to get to central station, it was quite full already so only half of us were able to get on at first, and the group got split up. Because of this, we had about 3 minutes to spare once we got to the station to catch our train. We ran through the station and though we missed it, but Dasha, one of our guides, saw it stopped further ahead from where we were and got the attention of them and we made it on just in time.

After all our traveling misfortunes, we went to Zaanse Schans, which is an area with a bunch of windmills and little shops. We saw a lot of different demonstrations today. We got to see how clogs are made (they are surprisingly comfortable), how cheese is made, and how a windmill power sawmill runs. I also finally did some shopping in the stores today which I’ve been needing to do. I got a couple things for my family and some spiced goat cheese. I kid you not, probably the best cheese I’ve ever had.
After that we took the train back and I went back to our hostel. I just relaxed and watched some YouTube videos and took a nap for a bit, then spent about a half an hour trying to choose where I should get dinner at. After all that time, I just went and got food at McDonald’s. Partially because I was very indecisive and partially because one of the other guys on the trip was talking about how they had these fried cheese bites that were really good and aren’t in the states, so I wanted to give them a try. I have to say, they were absolutely heavenly. After I ate my burger and cheese bites, I went to a cafe across the street and got a tea and headed back to the hostel. That was about it for today, hoping tomorrow the weather is nicer for the tulip fields.
