200 years of change in only 20 years…

In the morning we walked to the old docklands area where we met Dr. Kelly to give us a tour. He talked about old Ireland vs. new Ireland in many contexts. One piece that stuck out to me was that he mentioned how fast Ireland changed and grew. Since we have been here I have noticed how new many areas are and how it is still mixed in with the older areas. For example, we have seen the older bridges next to newer more modern bridges. We also have heard so much history and it explains the growth Ireland has really seen in the last few decades. Learning and seeing the difference between the new and old Ireland has truly been eye opening. Later in the day we were able to visit one of the nine Google offices in Ireland. Although I don’t think I would ever work at Google specifically, the experience was an amazing opportunity. It was super cool to see all the awesome amenities and the unique architecture. The main reason I don’t think I’d work at Google is because it doesn’t quite align with the type of work I want to do but I do want to find a company with similar beliefs as Google to work for in the future.
