Dr.Kelly was very informative of the ever-changing Irish culture and business scene. In the late 1900’s Ireland was very behind in technology. Dr.Kelly told us stories of the diffrences in America and Ireland in the 1980’s-1990’s. He described Ireland as an “escape to the past”. Once there was a shift in jobforce activities through the school system, Ireland was in need of immigrants to conduct blue collar activities. I see this in present day Ireland as the people are very diverse. I also enjoyed seeing the ever-growing docklands and business central. Companies such as KPMG, Google, and many more set up shop there to not only grab a diverse workforce but to fight tax rates.

Today we also visited Google headquarters. I thoroughly enjoyed this as I got an inside look into a new workplace culture. I was very impressed by all of the additives the company gives to their employees. This includes free food, mental health services, and collaborative activities. I would love to work for Google if I was interested in tech based marketing. I believe that their workplace culture would persuade me to come into office and look forward to collaborating with peers.
